The first weekend of the year is officially here! We’ve all made it this far, only 51 more weeks left!
I’ve been taking some time over the last week to think about what I want to get out of this year, and what I want to have to show for it when the clock ticks down on December 31st.
I have three resolutions:
- Publish at least one book
- Edit three novels
- Write three new novels
Right now I am still working on finishing Stranded Moon. My December 2017 didn’t quite go as smoothly as I had hoped it would, so I’m about two weeks behind. With focus (and the children returning to school) I will be able to knock out the rest of the story without much difficulty. Once Stranded Moon is in the books, so to speak, I will begin editing Flash Back.
Flash Back’s first draft finished in October 2017, right before I started preparing for NaNoWriMo. I haven’t even looked at it since. I’m excited to take a read through of it and begin a second draft.
I’ve been struggling with the editing part. I’ve been doing some reading over the last few months and I’m hoping that I’ve found a decent workable method to get past this part now. We’ll see!
I started the Snowflake Method on a new idea a few weeks ago, but alas with the lack of productivity in December, it hasn’t progressed. Silas Stinger will slowly come to life over the next few months while I work on Flash Back.
Another project I’m tossing around as prospective for this year is Hacker: The Story of Tony Smith. The project after Stranded Moon and Silas Stinger is still up in the air, though I’m hoping to have a prospective list to share after I’ve begun writing Silas’s story.
The goal is to have Stranded Moon done by January 15th, so I’ll check back in with you then to update you on progress made and the plan ahead!
